How I got here.

How I got here.

I’ve had the immense privilege to have studied under, worked for, and been mentored by some of our industry’s leading thinkers and practitioners of design and design research.

Denver

I was fortunate to be part of a small undergraduate design program which made possible collaboration and mentorship by Rick Robinson, John Cain, and Fred Murrell. This provided me priceless insight and context into the early days of Experience Design.

San Francisco

Spent a little over a year as Hugh Dubberly’s assistant and a designer supporting Hugh and Paul Pangaro, two of the leading experts in Cybernetics and Control Systems Theory, on the development and refinement of models and concepts for their Stanford class.

Chicago

Traced the work of Jay Doblin and Larry Keeley back to its source and attended the IIT’s Institute of Design to understand from direct experience how Doblin’s theories and frameworks could help shape design practice.

Pittsburgh

Mickey McManus and the team at MAYA Design invited me to join the team in 2010, completing a life long goal of joining the Pittsburgh design community and by extension connecting into the Carnegie Mellon approach to interaction design.

If you have the time, learn about my approach, otherwise you might just want to jump to my work.
